On June 10-11, Bayonne’s third annual town fair welcomed Summer in full effect, resulting in a great turnout from the community. The weather was bright, hot, beautiful, and perfect for this occasion. Numerous amounts of vendors rose their tents on Broadway between 21st and 25th streets from noon to 8 PM.
Avenues were full of excellent food stands and trucks, scrumptious fried treats, games, mechanical and inflatable rides, a stage for musical entertainment, and clothes for sale. This fair was meant for all ages to have fun and connect with everyone in their neighborhood.
My favorite food vendor was the Sicilian Club, the zeppole stand. Nothing beats a sweet summer treat like fried dough covered in powdered sugar. My friend, Neil Carroll, provided the delicious dessert. My job, Planet Fitness, made an appearance as well. We provided information about our current membership rates and held a game of cornhole to give away free prizes.
Bayonne’s Hometown Fair 2017 was a huge success, an amazing gathering, and of course, a fun time! The town also has their Bergen Point Fall Festival each year, so stay tuned for that one coming soon!
